Population Cartogram with data from the Gridded Population of the World
The following cartogram was created using a variant of the diffusion algorithm of Gastner and Newman, with data from the Gridded Population of the World compiled by the International Center for Earth Science at Columbia University. The population data seems to be for the year 2000.
See [2] for further explanation and comparable cartograms.
For machine-readable versions of the data, see [3].
