Interactive Map: Visualizing World Development from 1960

This is a nontraditional sort of "map" contanining vast quantities of information in an easily-comparable format. Look at factors across the world as a whole in the map function and see changes as they vary by region, or use the graph function to track and compare changes in different variables among several countries, or to see correlations between factors.

Using the timeline across the bottom, you can run through the time from 1990 to 2004 in a continuous mode or move to look at any specific point in time. Comparisons are one of the most interesting features, especially among factors one may not think would be associated.

This map manages to convey a complex picture of the world in the past decade and a half in a simple and easily manipulated format, and it encourages viewers to explore it.--Megant 15:47, 4 March 2007 (EST)
