In the present context, an anchor is a point within a page that can be the target of a hyperlink.
On QED pages, subsection titles can always be used as targets, and additional anchors can be created using Template:anchor.
For example, here is a link to the following section: Creating a Target Anchor
The preceding hyperlink was created using the wikitext: [[#Creating a Target Anchor|Creating a Target Anchor]]
The anchor template can be used to create additional anchors within a page. For example, this is a link to the anchor named "myanchor" in the following subsection.

Creating a Target Anchor
The following text is a named anchor: THIS IS A NAMED ANCHOR.
It was created using the text: {{anchor|THIS IS A NAMED ANCHOR|myanchor}}
