ID-based Customization

Many QED features can be readily customized by clicking on the my preferences button after logging in.

ID-based customization is also possible via the monobook.css and monobook.js pages in the User: space. For example, if your netid is Netid, then the CSS page would be User:Netid/monobook.css

Folder-based Customization

All components of the left-hand sidebar above the search box can be customized on a per-folder basis as follows:

  • the logo can modified, but any replacement logo must fit in the same space;
  • the number and contents of the navigation boxes beneath the logo can be customized.

In addition, one can choose whether or not the search button should be replaced by a search folder button to restrict searches to pages in the folder.

If you would like to create a new top-level folder or customize one, please send mail to qed@princeton.edu.

Quasi-keyboard

If you would like such an input method to be provided for a folder, please send mail to qed@princeton.edu.

To customize description pages in this manner:

  • Add {{Folder:PREFIX}} to the description page, where PREFIX is the folder prefix.
  • If the page named Template:Folder:PREFIX does not already exist, then create it by clicking on the red link that will appear on the page. This page can be blank, or it can (for example) be used to add a category to the description page. The simplest way to create a blank page is to add some text such as
