Help:Folder administration

QED supports decentralized administration of each folder's read: and edit: ACL pages.

Folder Administrators
If the page FOLDER/protected: exists and is protected, then that page effectively defines the list of administrators for the folder named FOLDER, and similarly for NAMESPACE:FOLDER/protected:, where NAMESPACE is a Namespace.
A folder's administrators can lift the restrictions defined by the folder's read: page by "unprotecting" it, and similarly for the edit: page. Protecting the ACL page will re-impose the restrictions.
Specifically, folder administrators can:
- protect a page by clicking on the protect tab, selecting "Sysops only", and pressing Confirm.
- unprotect a page by clicking on the unprotect tab, selecting "(default)", and pressing Confirm.
