This page is about the snippets of text that typically appear in search results.

Anonymous Users

Anonymous users (i.e., users who have not logged-in to QED) will not be shown search snippets from pages in the non-public namespaces (i.e. Course:, Project: and Princeton:).

Restricted Folders

Whether or not users will see search snippets in a specific folder is determined by a folder-specific setting that is independent of whether read-access to pages in the folder is governed by an access control list .

If you are a folder administrator and would like to prevent users who do do not have read-access to the pages in a folder from seeing search snippets, please send mail to qed@princeton.edu.
